Leaders of Tomorrow Program 2012

Friday November 11th. 2011

Greatest Love of all

I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be
Everybody searching for a hero
People need someone to look up to
I never found anyone to fulfill my needs
A lonely place to be
So I learned to depend on me

[Chorus:]
I decided long ago, never to walk in anyone's shadows
If I fail, if I succeed
At least I live as I believe
No matter what they take from me
They can't take away my dignity
Because the greatest love of all
Is happening to me
I found the greatest love of all
Inside of me
The greatest love of all
Is easy to achieve
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all

I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be

[Chorus]

And if by chance, that special place
That you've been dreaming of
Leads you to a lonely place
Find your strength in love

In the song above made popular by Whitney Houston remind us that our greatest assets is our children.
Leaders of Tomorrow is just the program we needed to kick start our talented young children to be future leaders. A little investment today goes a long way in the future to build a strong and safer Mississauga.

Streetsview Remembrance Day Parade

November 11th 2011

Today all over Canada from big city to small villages, Canadians of all ages gather amid mournful skirl of bagpipes, marching cadets, military officers, police, nurses and tears to honour our nation heros whom scacrifies all for our freedom.
They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

The "Ode of Remembrance" is an ode taken from Laurence Binyon's poem "For the Fallen".

124 new Canadian join the family

October  12th 2011

For the past three years I had been invited to Judge Mina Fung Citizen Court as a photographer to help the new Canadian celebrate their officially first day as Canadian. For the past two years I was the official photographer for Mississauga Chinese Business Association and the sponsor for the refreshment and photographer for the event. However in 2011 the Mississauga SafeCity became the official sponsor and because I am also the offcial photograher for SafeCity Mississauga I was priviledge to help out as the official photographer.

In the eighty when I received my Canadian Citizenship my wife and I regrettablely,  were not able to have a photo of us receiving our citizenship. Remember at that time I have my single len reflect Pentax camera with a twenty four frame, one hundred ASA film which was not as easy to capture the moment as today point and shoot digital camera. That is why every photo that can bring a smile from everyone receiving the citizenship mean a lot to me and I thank everyone for sharing this day with me.

When Mr. Victor Oh the Chair of SafeCity Mississauga share with everyone in the court today to donate your free time as a Canadian, and to do volunteer services in any non profitable association he knew that those services you provide would bring more reward to you than the people you serve as a volunteer. He was actually speacking to all from his heart as he has serve in the Mississauga for years as the president of Mississauga Chinese Business Association and later Honorurary President. Currently he is serving as Chair of SafeCity Mississauga.

Also today the new Canadian were previledge to hear from Hon. Stella Ambler member of parliment from Mississauga South who brought with her greeting from Hon. Jason Kenny the Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism wishing all the new Canadian a warm welcome to be become Canadian and congratulation. Ms. Stella Ambler spoke about the sacrifies her parent had to made migrating to Canada from Italy so that she could have a brighter future. Hopefully all the new Canadian can be inspired by her success to copy the same success story in the future.

Last but not least Mississauga newly elected member of parliment for Mississauga East Hon. Wladyslaw Lizon who was also an immigrant himself was at the Citizenship Court to welcome those new Canadians and to delivered to them the Prime Minister Hon Stephen Harper personal greeting to them.

Mississauga Judicial Inquiry Report

October 3rd, 2011

The verdict is now out and the Honorable Justice Douglas Cunningham had reported that Mayor Hazel McCallion broke the common sense rule regarding her conflict of interest in dealing with World Class Development due to her position and office as the Mayor of Mississauga. World Class Development Incorporated was incorporated in February 22nd. 2005 by solicitor D. Jared Brown and his colleague Joseph Caprara as per Mr. Peter McCallion instruction.

According to page 28 of the report of the Mississauga Judicial Inquiry (Updating the Ethical Infrastructure Executive Summary), "There is no doubt that the Mayor's interest in the World Class Development project was driven principally by her desire for a four or five-star hotel in Mississauga, and not simply by a desire to assist her son. However, the mayor knowingly used her public office and her relationship with OMERS (Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System) to influence the co-owners to agree to concessions that benefited WCD. She knew her son Peter McCallion stood to gain financially if the deal succeeded. For this reason, the exercise of influence put her in conflict, both real and apparent".

Mississauga Chinese Business Association 20th Anniversary Gala

Septem 23rd. 2011, Friday 7:00 pm at Mississauga Convention Centre

Certainly, the Mississauga Chinese Business Association was build on a very good foundation and the leadership was of the highest standard by Canadian standard. Most business association would have definitely want to help their membership to achieved the best business opportunity through their political affilation but Mississauga Chinese Business Association went one step further by making sure they also help to foster better civic relationship betweem the public and the Peel Police and Fire Department. Not surprisingly on their twentieh anniversary Gala celebration at the Mississauga Centre all three level of goverments were on hand to help them celebrate this achievement with congratutory statement from Prime Minister Stephen Harper Was hand delivered and read by Mississauga MP Bob Dechert to the association.

It would be unfair if I did not memtion the evening would not be complete without the entertainment from Sheridan College performing art group. They dance and sing to a first class performance of the TV show GLEE for the crowd.

Mississauga Residences help Mayor Hazel to celebrate her 90th birthday at LAC

February 13th 2011at The Living Arts Center, Mississauga

Today thousand of Mississauga residences were invited to the Living Arts Center to Celebrate Her Worship Mayor Hazel McCallion ninetieth birthday. The event was hosted by none other than the popular Mr. Jake Dheer, Station Manager from Rogers TV Mississauga. This year chair of the birthday party planning committee, Mr. Ron Lenyk was trill to see the enthusiast’s residences out pouring of support for the event, he said he wasn’t at all surprised by the huge turnout, considering Mayor Hazel McCallion enormous popularity.

Mayor Hazel 90th Birthday Gala

She is ninety years young and like the energizer rabbit she show no sign of her slowing down. Hazel McCallion is the mayor of Mississauga, Ontario, the sixth-largest city in Canada. Mayor Hazel McCallion has been Mississauga's mayor for 32 years, holding office since she was first elect in 1978 after narrowly defeating the popular incumbent Eon A. Searle. She is affectionately called "Hurricane Hazel" by supporters as well as the media at large for her vibrant outspoken style of no-nonsense politics.

Hazel Journeaux better know to the world as Mayor Hazel McCallion was born in Port Daniel on the Gaspe Coast of Quebec. Her father's family traces their roots back to the island of Jersey. Jersey is where the Bailiwick of Jersey which is a Bristish crown Depency off the coast of Nornamdy, France. Her father Herbert Armand Journeaux who passed away in 1944 at the age of 65 owned a fishing and canning company. Her mother, Maude Travers was a homemaker and ran the family farm until 1955. Hazel McCallion the sole survivalof the family had two sisters, Linda Maude Adams, and Margret Gwendolyn Travers Capener and two brothers, Herbert Lorne Journeaux, and James Wilson Lockhart Journeaux who are now with the Lord. She graduated from Quebec High School and later attended a business secretarial school in Quebec City and Montreal. She has stated, especially while receiving university honours, that she would have wanted to attend university, but financially her family could not afford it. After working in Montreal, she was transferred by Canadian Kellogg company to Toronto.

It was in Ontario where Hazel Journeaux met and married her husband, Sam McCallion in an Angilcan Church. It was her Christian faith that is largely attributed to her concern for the public good. There is too many thing I could have written about this dynamic women however, today over one thousand friends of the mayor contributed three hundred and fifty dollars each to attend her birthday gala in her honour and raise fund for the new Seridan College in Mississauga.

Mississauga Chinese Business Association celebrate Chinese New Year at City Hall

Thursday Febuary 3rd 2011

Not surprisingly another year has gone by and once I am invited to photograph the ceremony and celebration. This year the world is celebrating the year of the rabbit.

People born in the Year of the Rabbit are articulate, talented, and ambitious. They are virtuous, reserved, and have excellent taste. Rabbit people are admired, trusted, and are often financially lucky. They are fond of gossip but are tactful and generally kind. Rabbit people seldom lose their temper. They are clever at business and being conscientious, never back out of a contract. They would make good gamblers for they have the uncanny gift of choosing the right thing. However, they seldom gamble, as they are conservative and wise. They are most compatible with those born in the years of the Sheep, Pig, and Dog.

This year the New Beginning will work with the Credit Valley Hospital foundation in the hope to raise Canadian ten thousand dollars.

Many of the volunteer for the evening event paid for their own tickets and donated large amount of items to be auction off during the diner. Mayor Hazel Celebrate Chinese Lunar New Year at Chinese Temple on New Year Eve

Every year on Chinese New Year eve the Fo Guang Shan Temple in Mississauga on 6525 Millcreek Drive, Mississauga open its door to the thousand of worshippers coming to the temple to prayer for blessing for the coming year. This year the temple was honour to have her worship the Mayor of Mississauga Hazel McCallion celebrating the festivity with the citizens of Mississauga at the temple and ringing the bell to usher the new year along with Councilor Pat Saito from Ward 9 and MPP Mr. Bob Delaney, Mississauga, Streetsville as well as Mr. Victor Oh the current Chair of SafeCity Mississauga.

According to eastern traditional horoscope the coming 2011 year of the White Rabbit should came with more or less tranquil nature, but definitely must be delicate and sensitive to the word around. Of course on the surface the 2011 year of the Rabbit is sensitive, sophisticated and confident period, but... Anyway balanced and calm conditions of the 2011 year of the Rabbit may be easily weakened by only one unpredictable situation after which only titanic effort may return all developments of the 2011 year back on track. So make sure you don't ask too much and don't expect too much from the year of the White Rabbit since 2011 year has something to show us and even the best intellect could hardly imagine what the 2011 year of the White Rabbit got in store for us.
