Malaysian Association of Canada 29th. Annual Golf Tournament

Sunday July 22nd., 2018 at Royal Stouffville Golf Club, Stoffville, Ontario Canada.

Malaysian Association of Canadian annual golf tournament was held in Stouffville, Ontario, Canada instead of their usually site at Angus Glen, in Markham, Ontario. Although, the weather was rainy during the first half of the tournament but it was later turn into a great golfing day for all the competitors.

In the past events, after the game the awards presentation was usually held at a nearby Chinese Restaurant but this year the closing awards ceremony was also held at Royal Stouffville Golf Club with a generous portion of all you can eat salad bar with an 8 ounces steaks cook to your liking and a generous serving of desert with self serve coffee or tea.

However, unlike previous year there were fewer participants due to the change of venue as well as the travel distance to the venue. Furthermore, the weather was also a factor with some last minutes no show. On the whole it was a successful, and enjoyable game for all who attended. Although, mother nature did not cooperated for half an hour during the tournament but that did not dampened everyone's spirits.

New City of Mississauga Council inauguration Ceremony at the Living Art Centre on December 2nd. 2014

December 2nd 2014 at Living Art Centre Mississauga

This year mark the end of Mayor Hurricane Hazel McCallion era an usher a new Mayor and former member of federal Parliament Bonnie Crombie. Although Mayor Crombie knew it is almost impossible to fit in the shoe left behind after Madam Hazel McCallion she hope to achieve the same respect as what Hazel has attained. One most obvious difference with Mayor Crombie at the helm would be a more moderate and compromise Mississauga council compared to the combative and aggressive dictatorial management style of Mayor Hazel. This approach from Mayor Crombie will definitely usher in a more cooperative and collective ideas for the progressive City of  Mississauga.

With Mayor Hazel retiring after more than three decades at the helm in Mississauga  and councillor Kathy Mahoney retiring earlier while Mayor Crombie replacing Mayor Hazel at the helm there is two new councillors for the two wards will have to be filled. 2014 Citizenship Court Ceremony

Friday October 31st. 2014 at 3085A Glen Erin Drive, Mississauga, Ontario

It has been a long time since the last time I was with the Hon. Senator Victor Oh attending a citizenship court ceremony. As usual I am very glad to have the opportunity to attend this ceremony along with hundred and four new Canadians from twenty seven countries accepting their citizenship's today at the nine o'clock morning court session.

Today ceremony was presided by Hon. Judge Rafiq Rokerya of Mississauga. Than the Judge goes on to welcome everyone in the court for today ceremony and congratulate the one hundred and four newest Canadians to the great Canadian family. He also stress on the important of every Canadians that Canada is a land of great opportunity for all work hard to achieve them. He explain how his family venture into Canada as an immigrants years ago and fought hardship and determination to be successful. Likewise he also stress to the new citizen the important of taking time to volunteer in the community. Like the one hundred and four new citizens, he was once like them sitting on the the other side of the bench accepting his citizenship and was grateful that this community involvement was rewarded when he was appointed to be a citizenship Judge.

After his encouragement the court clerk Ms. Sandy asked all in the court to rise and follow along with the Judge Rafiq Rokerya to swear the oath of allegiance of citizenship. The court clerk informed all attending the ceremony the important of saying out loud the oath to becoming a Canadian. First the oath was said in English than the second time around in French. Judge Rafiq Rokerya also reminded all that Canada is a bilingual country and it would be helpful for all Canadians to learn both languages.

Right the oath the Judge and VIP for today ceremony along with the court clerk move to the front to hand out the citizenship certificate individually to all the one hundred and four new Canadians.  With the official ceremony is almost concluded, the judge than asked the Hon. Senator Victor Oh to give a word of encouragement to the new Canadian. Like Judge Rafiq Rokerya, the Hon. Senator Victor Oh was himself an immigrant from Singapore many years ago. After building himself a very successful real estate company as well as serving as executive in a numbers of organizations in the community he was appointed to the Senate by the Hon. Prime Minister. After that all the new Canadian was asked to stand and remain standing for the national anthem "O'Canada". That conclude today ceremony as the court clerk reminded everyone to remain standing as the Hon. Judge exit the court along with all the VIP.

Saturday, September 20th., 2014 at Mississauga Valley Park on 1275  Mississauga Valley Blvd. Mississauga , Ontario L5A 3R8

Although summer is almost over without much summer weather in Ontario however mother nature was a great factor on this sunny day for the Mississauga Mandarin Association Annual Community BBQ at Mississauga Valley Park. Today community BBQ organised by the Mississauga Mandarin Association to honour  the Hon.Senator Victor Oh a local Chinese Community Leader for many year in Mississauga. Over a thousand local Chinese residences were on hand to greet and chat with the honoured guest as well as photo opportunity.

Mississauga Mandarin Association

Senator Victor Oh was well suited for his position especially in Mississauga as a hub for Chinese immigrant from China. He is well suited  to breach the gap and to help integrated the new immigrants to the Canadian culture especially because he is very fluent in both Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkian and English as well as being an immigrant himself after having established himself as a successful businessman in Mississauga.

As the October municipal election draw closer Hon. Senator Victor Oh encourage these new residences of Mississauga to participate in the local election and encouraging the youth to participate in the election process by volunteering their time to the local candidates after investigating on the candidates policy and profile.

Ontario election day is today

Thursday June 12th., 2014

Today is provincial election day for Ontario and all Canadian in the province should exercise their civic duty to vote at any polling stations in their riding. Lately there were numerous irresponsible sign asking people to vote for none of the above as a protest vote.  I have personally seen it on the lawn of many home owners and felt disgusted by this idea of spoiling your vote on election day. This idea is completed wrong because their idea are as flawed, and not much better than the politician their are protesting against.

Fundamentally,  they should not complain if they are not involved in the election process to made it better. There are better way to correct the problem in the election process if these  people are frustrated with those elected and sweared  to governed the province. If they felt they can do a better jobs than those elected than they should get involved in the process and get themselves elected otherwise please keep your opinion to yourself and stop complaining.

Collectively, make sure those seeking office know your expectation when you vote for them and their parties and making sure those elected know you are watching their performance for future election.Their position in the parliament are a result of your riding collective decision and he of she is solely responsible for your riding progress. All residences in your riding are collectively the politician boss and all of you are to perform their annual assessment just like any jobs.  At the end of their contract it is the riding whose collective decision to ensure those elected to their position get to keep their contract for another term or to be terminated and elected another candidate from another party.
