Today at the Mississauga Convention center a small crowd of media personnel and friends were on hand for the Community Living Mississauga special announcement honoring Mr. Victor Oh at its 26th Annual Tribute Dinner. This is a first time a residence of Chinese descendant who immigrated to Canada a few decades ago from Singapore is inducted to the selected few for their greater contribution to Mississauga. “We are very excited and proud to have Victor Oh as our 2010 honoree,” said Doug Fowles, Chair of the Tribute Dinner Planning Committee. In 2009 Mr. Victor Oh had earned the prestigious Citation of Citizenship from the Government of Canada.
Mr. Victor Oh is currently the Vice Chair of SafeCity Mississauga and honorary President of Mississauga Chinese Business Association. He is a well-respected Chinese community leader within the Chinese community in Mississauga. It is not surprisingly to the Chinese community that Mr. Fowles would stated that for the past twenty five years, Community Living Mississauga has honored a community leader at it annual tribute dinner and based on the enormous contribution from Mr. Oh it is truly a leader deserving of this honor.
Proceeds from this diner will enable children and teens that have an intellectual disability to actively participate in a variety of summer camp programs offered throughout Mississauga. Mr. Oh hope his induction by the Community Living Mississauga will encourage more Chinese to contribute to and support the mainstream community service group like Community Living Mississauga.
On Thursday, March 25th, Community Living Mississauga will be honoring Mr. Victor Oh at its 26th Annual Tribute Dinner at the Mississauga Convention Centre. Anyone interested in sponsoring this event or purchasing tickets should contact Sara Dias at 905-542-2694 or sarad@clmiss.ca.
