For Immediate Release:

The 14th annual Tim Hortons Southside Shuffle Blues & Jazz Festival, being held from September 7 to 9, brings a world of blues and jazz music to Port Credit once again – and this year the entertainment is bigger than ever!

“We are putting the shuffle back in the shuffle,” says festival founder Chuck Jackson, the legendary blues singer with The Downchild Blues Band. This year there are four stages in Memorial Park and the entertainment will be non-stop as performances on one stage ends and starts up on another.

Dubbed the Five Buck Blues, it costs only $5 to get into the park to experience these four stages of endless music.  A weekend pass is $10.

The Heath and Sherwood main stage will feature some of the top blues acts from across Canada, including Cameo Blues Band, Fathead, Jack de Keyzer and Stacy Mitchhart.  Cheryl Lescomb returns with the Tucson Choir Boys and Downchild Blues Band closes out the weekend for the 14th straight year…a show not to be missed!

The Mississipi ‘Find Your True South’ main stage will feature an amazing lineup of musicians from the True South – Mississipi - proving once again that the Southside Shuffle is a world class festival with the talent to back it up.

The ‘Wasaga Beach Stonebridge’ main stage hosts its own impressive lineup with Jimmy Bowskill, the Scott Holt Band, Loco Zydeco and the incredible Shakura S’aide, among many others.

As the gateway to the Festival, the ‘Holmar Plumbing, B&D Auto Recycling’ sponsored Dave de Eyre Square will welcome visitors to the festival with some amazing acts, including Al Lerman, Tucson Choir Boys and Paul James.

There’s much more thoughout the weekend, including the ever popular Beggar’s Banquet Banquet, which will also kick off the weekend festivities on Thursday, Sept. 6, with host Johnny Max.

Everyone’s favourite festival attraction, The Street Shuffle, is also back this year.  On Saturday, the Street Shuffle will host more than 30 bands along Lakeshore Road between Hurontario Street and Stavebank Road from 2 to 6 p.m., including blues, jazz, Dixieland and more.  Don’t miss the biggest street party in the city.

The Junior Jam, Harps for Kids, Vendor Village, Molson Beer Gardens and Food Court can also be found in Memorial Park.  With more than 175 bands in 20-plus clubs and venues in Port Credit holding live music performances, along with the Legion Jam stage, you may be stressed as you decide who to see first.

This year’s Southside Shuffle will be a weekend full of incredible talent and wonderful people.  Don’t miss out.  For more information or to buy tickets, visit www.southsideshuffle.com
